Sunbittern (Eurypga helias)

The Sunbittern is a beautiful bird, specially when it extends its colorful wings. It is not common to see it, however it can be found on riversides. I photographed this bird in Rio Frio, on April 14th, 2017. It was about 5:30 pm, so light was scarce and the bird was really far away. I could not get any closer, because it was on the other side of a river, and there was no way to cross it. Still, it was a marvelous experience to see the bird foraging nearby.
