Cerro Buenavista

Cerro Buenavista is among the highest places in Costa Rica, and one of the regular homes for to the marvellous Resplendent Quetzal. Although many people come here for the bird, there are splendorous sunsets and sunrises to be seen. A popular spot for sunsets is at the towers, the highest point and also the coldest one. The most brave camp here overnight, withstanding temperature between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius, and leave with wonderful night sky pictures.


Sunsets at this peak can be mesmerizing in colors. A dense layer of clouds above get the red colors, while the clouds below stay white to blue. The vegetation itself seems to glow as well.


Sunrise can be just as incredible to watch. This is a closer look at the wavy pattern of the mountains nearby.
