Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus)

The Glossy Ibis resembles a lot the Green Ibis, however the body has a reddish coloration, while the wings are a metallic green that glows in sunshine. Like most ibises, it dwells in swamps and grassy plains, using its downcurved beak to snatch prey from the ground and the water. The most impressive feature of this bird is the bill, with an unexpected curve down, very atypical when compared with most bird species.
